About
South Link Studios offers free studio recording time to the public of Ĺtepoti/Dunedin and wider Otago. We are situated in South Link House at the southern end of Princess St in Dunedin.
My name is Nick Roughan, and I am an audio engineer with over four decades of experience in the New Zealand music industry. I am the studio manager at South Link Productions recording studios, and I am passionate about helping people realise their ambitions and dreams regarding recording and producing music, soundtracks, sound experiments, theatre efx and anything else you can imagine.
What we offer
We offer any artist, band, musical collective or theatre group up to 18 hours/year of FREE studio time with an experienced audio engineer.
This will include a consultation with me (Nick) to work out the best way of obtaining the outcome that you can be proud of.
In the medium term I will offer classes in Studio Production and Engineering, as well as Electronic Music theory and performance. Future classes and mentoring sessions with well-known musicians will also be on the agenda.
We will also have a studio available for podcasting and associated media communications and broadcasting production.
