Welcome to DATA from South Link Productions, where we round up the latest information and updates for our community.A word of thanks Firstly, we would like to thank all of the people who have supported and encouraged the development of the free to the community recording studios at South Link House in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. We continue to strive to offer a quality service to the public and arts community of our region and have had applications from all over Aotearoa, New Zealand. Special acknowledgement goes to Murray Tilyard and Kaye Baldwin, as well staff from South Link Health, who have made this all possible. Make sure you book your studio time A quick reminder to those who have applied for studio time but have not yet enquired about booking this time. Please get in touch as soon as possible; all our current applications have been accepted and your free studio time is waiting for you. Note that you can re-apply for an allocation of studio time of up to 20 hours every six months. Give us a shout out! South Link Productions studios is a community project, and we rely on our applicants, studio users and supporters to help promote our service to the wider community. We welcome interest from bands, singers, theatre groups, Kapa Haka and cultural groups, schools, youth programmes, and anyone else who wishes to express themselves in the audio-visual world. Read article in the ODT: The songs go on thanks to kindness New podcasting and filming suite We are proud to announce the opening of our podcasting and filming suite. This is a great way to promote your project and communicate with family, friends, community groups and a wider audience. The podcast facility has already been used by Tūhura Otago Museum to document the very early history of the European settlement of Otago from the Māori perspective. Contact us if you would like to discuss your project and book a session. ![]() Intern engineer to join the team We would like to thank The New Zealand Music Commission for providing funding to enable us to add an intern engineer to our team. This will allow us to offer a wider range of projects to the community next year, such as audio engineering courses, musical tutoring (with Robert Scott) and electronic music forums. More details on these courses will be released soon. The final word Thank you for being part of our South Link Productions community this year.
